Warm & Comfortable Interiors in 2014.

A lot of words are being thrown around right now. Words of the year that is, words to live by or a word to live by that will help guide you through 2014, that will keep you focused and help you achieve a year of total and utter happiness.

When it comes to the home, I think that there are two words that you will see a little more of this year.  Warmth & Comfort.  Creating an inviting space for anyone who is wanting to enjoy the room.  I also think that we'll see more clean lines and less fuss, but not so much in a way that it will make for a stark and bland space, at least I know that all of these will be the focus for myself in our home.  It's taken me a while to figure out my style, but I've come to discover that I am much more traditional than I realized, but traditional in a non traditional way.  Traditional-a-la-Julie!

For me, 2014 is all about carefully selected fabrics, an array of textures, well chosen colours and a wonderful mix of pieces, creating a space that truly reflects the homeowner.  All together and you get something like this (focusing primarily on living rooms), my definition of warmth & comfort:

In other news, I recently discovered the Sultry Sirens station on Songza.  Have you listened to it? I'm obsessed!

  1. A fuchsia couch - so bold. I don't think I could ever do it but it looks pretty darn cool.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a little note!
